Atlantic’s new in-celing loudspeakers – the ICTS-6.1-IP – are shipping now. They’re compatible with IP based whole house systems, like NetStreams, but can still be connected via conventional speaker wires.
The ICTS-6.1-IP speakers feature a 6-1/2” woofer and a centrally located 1” pivoting silk dome tweeter. They’re driven by a multi-element crossover that Atlantic says is built in a way found more traditionally in more expensive speakers. The frequency response of the ICTS-6.1-IP is 59Hz up to 20kHz at a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. They come with white speaker grilles that can easily be painted to match their surroundings. Each speaker comes with a black box and a mounting bracket to ensure a sealed enclosure. “We have built some really good ceiling speakers over the years” says Atlantic’s Steve Feinstein, “but never one that sounds this good for such a modest price.” He states that installers have expressed a great deal of interest in a low cost in-ceiling IP capable speaker. “It's easy to install, it sounds great and it's priced right for today's marketplace.” The Atlantic ICTS-6.1-IP speakers are available now at a surprisingly low $125 each. |
