The StorE TV media centers will do most everything you’d expect a media center to do. They’ve got WiFi connectivity built right in, and will stream files from your home network. They can play media from USB storage devices, SD cards and even external DVD drives. Blu-ray hasn’t been mentioned, but it seems logical that an external Blu-ray drives would work too.
They’ll come in three different sizes: 1 terabyte, 1.5 terabytes and 2 terabytes. StorE TV units will also handle internet streaming services. There’s been no confirmation yet as to which services will be available, but don’t be surprised to see Toshiba’s whole internet suite made available.
There’s no pricing out yet; Toshiba has so far only shown a few quick hits of the new media centers. They’re slated to hit the UK later this year, though a US release date has not yet been announced.
