Sony Shows the Vaio L Touch HTPC/TV  Print E-mail

The concept of the all in one device is constantly evolving.  From the Swiss Army Knife to the Home Theater PC, there are some people who want it all, but they want it all in one tiny package. The new Sony Vaio L Touch HTPC caters to just those people.  With a 24” multi touch screen, a terabyte of hard drive space, an HDMI input and a built in tuner the Vaio L Touch features a little bit of everything.

The base model, at $1,299, doesn’t come with any of that though.  True, it’s a 24” 1080p touchscreen with a Blu-ray drive and a 320GB hard drive, but it could hardly be said to be an all in one product.  The good stuff – an HDMI input, built in tuner, sizable hard drives and quad core processors really hit in the $1,799 and $1,999 models.

The high end L Touch model boasts a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 6GB of RAM, and a preinstalled copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  The 1TB hard drive can be used as storage for music and videos that users can rip onto the L Touch, or for DVR storage of up to 100 hours of high definition video.

The L Touch can be wall mounted, or balanced on a photo frame style plastic stand.  The Sony Vaio L Touch line is available for preorder now at Sony Style, and will be available online and in select stores starting in November.
