Universal
Pictures is currently looking at Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx to take
on the lead roles in a Miami Vice movie, loosely based on the hit 80s
show.
The movie will not be a carbon-copy of the show that ran from 1984-1989, in fact, the biggest resemblance to the show will be that it is a cop drama set in South Beach. Michael Mann (executive producer of the TV series) is set to be the film’s director, writer and producer). Anthony Yarkovich, creator of Miami Vice, has also been tapped as a producer. There are a handful of guest roles including Glenn Frey, James Brown, G. Gordon Liddy, Frank Zappa and Ted Nugent. Stars that passed on taking roles include Julia Roberts, Chris Rock and Wesley Snipes. Universal also is planning on releasing Miami Vice on DVD next year. Source: E! Online |
