The Nintendo 3DS is an exciting product, even for home theater fans that don't play games.  It's one of the first demonstrations of glasses-free 3D on a massive scale, and it's certainly expected to sell well.  The success of the 3DS could mean big things for the industry.

Nintendo's highly anticipated game system just got more exciting, with the possible addition of 3D video recording.  It won't be ready for Japan at launch, but Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata says that a firmware update could add that functionality.

"I think it will be fun if we're able to include video recording capabilities with future updates," says Iwata in a Q&A featured on Nintendo's website.  He added that with the addition of an SD card, you'll have enough room for some significant recordings.  "Long videos, lots of photos, they'll fit."
