Comedian
Rodney Dangerfield died Tuesday in Los Angeles, apparently due to
complications from heart surgery, says CNN. Dangerfield is best known
for his self-deprecating “I Don’t Get No Respect” humor and witty
one-liners. His fans and supporters around the world including the
Comedy Store on Sunset Strip and Penn & Teller are paying their respects.
Dangerfield’s role as Al Cervik in the epic golf film Caddyshack will go down as one of the best and most quoted performances in film. Walk around any pro shop in the English-speaking world and say (really loudly and obnoxiously), “One thousand bucks says you slice” or “So what – so let’s dance” and everyone will know exactly what and who you are referring to, Dangerfield was a self-made man who brought joy to generations after generations of fans. He will be sadly missed. |
