'The Hobbit' is one hotly anticipated film. Not only is it another opportunity to see Peter Jackson tackle some Tolkien, but it's also a film that's pushing the boundaries of technology. Over 450 theaters will be showing the hobbit with HFR – that's 48fps high frame rate – and a decent chunk of those will be adding Dolby Atmos surround sound to the mix.
There are a few different lists online, but this downloadable PDF from The One Ring.net is the best we've found so far. It includes the US, the UK, Canada and more, and gives you a look at what theaters offer which technologies. Chances are you'll have an HFR theater near you, but Atmos cinemas are still few and far between. Source: TheOneRing.net
