The folks at Dolby have been busy creating new audio technologies, but also in making sure that we get to hear them. Atmos is the latest of these and it's designed to create a more immersive experience in theaters, giving you a more immersive 3D sound experience. You'll be able to catch Atmos in select theaters with the release of 'Taken 2' and 'Chasing Mavericks.' Dolby will release a full list of theaters as we come closer to the films' release dates.

Meanwhile, on the small screen, Dolby has announced that Dolby Digital Plus will be coming to UltraViolet to give better sound quality to your digital files. It's a nice step up in audio for the service and should help to make those copies more enjoyable for those of us that are a bit more picky when it comes to audio quality.
