This week you've got the choice between a spy thriller starring George Clooney, a romantic comedy with Drew Barrymore and a flick that started out as a joke and stars Danny Trejo.
Machete If you saw 'Grindhouse' in theaters, then you'll be familiar with 'Machete.' It's a throwback to exploitation films of the 70s that was invented solely as a trailer to be aired between Tarantino and Rodrigruez's grindhouse flicks. Though the male leads are Danny Trejo and Steven Seagal, 'Machete' still sits as the highest rated and quite possibly most popular film of the week. The American George Clooney stars in this spy thriller which has been hailed as one of the best shot movies of the year. It's beautiful to look at, but many critics say that any scene that doesn't feature Clooney comes off as incredibly dull. Going the Distance Just because 'Going the Distance' is a romantic comedy doesn't mean it lacks content. It's actually a fairly grounded film, though not a great one. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone pans the movie, saying that while Barrymore and Long are both likeable, they just can't hold the film together.
