You might not think it from the previews, but 'Tangled' has been getting great reviews all over the place. It's a fun flick that retells the Rapunzel story in a unique way. Kids will love the wackiness and irreverence and parents are sure to enjoy the cast which includes talents like Ron Perlman, Jeffrey Tambor and the absolutely hilarious Paul F. Tompkins.
Adam Graham of the Detroit news said it best. "Every Thanksgiving needs a turkey, and this year's comes wrapped in a lacy bustier." 'Burlesque' isn't bad enough to become a cult classic but it's not good enough to watch seriously. It stars Cher and Christina Aguilera and should be avoided at all costs.
Love and Other Drugs
Then again, if you're stuck between 'Burlesque' and 'Love and Other Drugs,' Cher may be your best bet. It's surprising based on the cast which includes Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, but this seems to be a downright awful movie.
Looking for some more action oriented faire? 'Faster' is your option this week, and though it isn't a good one, it's the only choice you've got. It's got Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Billy Bob Thorton, the incredibly underrated Carla Gugino but the cast isn't enough to carry an otherwise dull and predictable movie.
