Home automation is the ultimate cool. Sure, having a killer TV is great, there's something that's just so impressive about making it rise out of nowhere. TV lift cabinets aren't always cheap, and they certainly don't always go with the look of the room. An Instructables user named ihart has created a video that details how to make your own for less than $1,000. Making your own lift cabinet isn't quick by any means, but based on the instructional guide (with videos) uploaded by ihart, it's not horribly difficult. You'll need some woodworking skills of course, but nothing as involved as you might think. A bit of elbow grease and you won't have to settle for a cabinet that's been made by someone else to fit your situation - you can modify something that's just right for you.
