When companies release new versions of their old gear, the changes usually aren't that big.  You'll see slightly improved performance, a few new parts, or a cool new feature that brings it in line with current tech.  The Mark II ClairAudient is different.  Instead of a frequency response of 80Hz to 22kHz, the new version goes down to 30Hz.  It's a huge change, and one that will certainly be welcome by Audient customers.

Axiom's latest speakers are designed to correct for the most common problems you'll face with dipole/bipole speakers – specificity.  Some sounds, like that of soloists, shouldn't be going everywhere in the room and should be pinpointed. Axiom extensively customized the frequency response of the rear speakers to ensure that you'll get a seamless soundstage and minimal roll-off.

When MartinLogan announces new products, they don't mess around.  They've got two new speakers available this month and an in-wall set that's going to be coming in early 2012. The company's new floorstanding speakers are known as the Montis and they borrow heavily from the flagship ESL series.  It uses a 24-bit DSP and a 200 watt Class D amplifier that helps to deliver audio down to 29Hz.  You'll even get built-in low frequency EQ to adjust for your room.  It's available this month at $9,995 for a pair.

The Theos is the newest addition to MartinLogan's acclaimed speaker line, and the most affordable hand-built electrostatic speaker they have.  Don't confuse affordable with cheap though - the Theos takes a lot from the CLX loudspeaker and introduces not only greater visual transparency but a better bass response than in previous MartinLogan models.
