Having a great listening room in your home is a luxury that can’t be beat. Of course, a great setup for audio can make other listening experiences less enjoyable. If you’re an audiophile that travels a lot, you could end up listening to your MP3 player a lot of the time, or even through your laptop.
While these are great solutions where portability is a concern, they’re less than optimal in terms of audio quality. The folks at CEntrance think they may have the solution with the new DACport. The DACport is more than just a headphone amp, it’s a USB powered digital to analog converter. CEntrance claims that it plays back 24-bit/96 kHz HD audio with bit-for-bit accuracy. It’s plug and play, so no drivers are needed, and it pulls power straight out of the USB ports. CEntrance also boasts a military spec clock oscillator for jitter free performance and a capacitor free design. The DACport is available now directly from CEntrance at a price of $500. |
