MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2 (Paramount Home Entertainment), released earlier this year, is director John Woo’s kinetic, action-packed espionage adventure set largely in Australia, starring Tom Cruise as IMF master of disguise Ethan Hunt, Dougray Scott as his nemesis and Thandie Newton as the woman they both love. The screenplay is by Robert (CHINATOWN) Towne. Sound formats are English Dolby 5.1 Surround and French Dolby; visual format is widescreen, enhanced for 16x9 screens. Supplemental material includes a 34-minute series of interviews regarding the stunt sequences with Woo, Cruise and stunt coordinator Bran Smrz, an audio commentary track by Woo, interviews with cast and crew, a second stunts featurette, the Metallica music video "I Disappear," an alternate title sequence and the MTV Movie Awards parody "Mission Improbable."
TITAN A.E. (Fox Home Video), released earlier this year, is an animated science-fiction film about a quest to save humanity following the destruction of our planet (the "A.E." stands for "after Earth"). Directors Don Bluth and Gary Goldman utilize a visually intriguing style that combines traditional animation with 3-D CGI. The voice cast includes Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, Bill Pullman and Janeane Garofalo. Sound formats are English DTS, English Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby 2.0 Surround and French 2.0 Surround; the DVD comes in the film’s theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Extras on the disk include deleted scenes, a making-of short, a stills gallery and the music video "Over My Head."
