The NCL survey, which included 1,000 consumers between the ages of 18 and 64, reported that 90 percent of those surveyed (94 percent of those with children) believe they should be able to back up their DVD collection to their PCs, in a manner similar to CDs. Nearly half of those surveyed reported purchasing a second copy of a DVD in order to replace one that was damaged, which is a driving factor behind consumer frustration at the lack of adaptability in the DVD market.
