The highly anticipated DVD releases of Jurassic Park and The Lost World hit store shelves today (10/10/2000). To celebrate the two releases, Universal Studios Home Video and Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company have announced a promotion that may be of great interest to anyone who is still stuck watching movies at home on their VHS machines.
Consumers who purchase both Jurassic Park and The Lost World on DVD and a current Panasonic or Technics brand DVD product, including home theater systems, DVD- Audio players and TV/DVD/VCR combo units between October 1, 2000 and January 31, 2001 will receive 2 free Universal Studios Home Video DVDs of their choice, from a selection of 34 titles.
Some of the titles available in this promotion are the Collector's Editions of Out of Sight, Dante's Peak, Daylight, Blues Brothers, Mercury Rising, and The Flintstones. Fans of surround sound will be glad to know that DTS versions of both Jurassic Park and The Lost World are currently available.
"Panasonic was the first to introduce DVD players into the U.S. market in 1997, and we now offer the broadest assortment of DVD products in the industry," said Rusty Osterstock, General Manager of Panasonic’s DVD and Technics product lines. "We are committed to bringing the consumer the best in DVD, and what better way to enhance the DVD experience than a cross-promotion which features two of the biggest movies of all time and gives the consumer a choice of free movies."
