ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET THE MUMMY (Universal Home Video) is the 1955 comedy about characters played by the famed team of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello encountering … well, you know. Charles Lamont directs. No format information is available. There is English closed-captioning. Extras include production notes and the theatrical trailer. There is no MPAA rating (this film predates the ratings system).

BLOW OUT (MGM Home Entertainment) is director Brian De Palma’s 1981 thriller about a recording technician (John Travolta) who inadvertently captures a crime on tape. Nancy Allen also stars. MPAA rating is PG-13.

DRESSED TO KILL (MGM Home Entertainment) is director Brian De Palma’s famed 1980 thriller about a teen (Keith Gordon) seeking the unusually-attired murderer of his mother (Angie Dickinson). Michael Caine and Nancy Allen also star. Aspect ratio is 2.35:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1, English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono and French Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono, with Spanish and French subtitles and English closed-captioning. EXIT WOUNDS (Warner Home Video), released theatrically earlier this year, is an action thriller with Steven Seagal as a cop fighting urban evil. DMX also stars for director Andrzej Bartkowiak. Aspect ratio is 2.35:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French, with English subtitles and closed-captioning. Extras include a making-of featurette, DMX’s music video "Ain’t No Sunshine" and hidden features. MPAA rating is R.

GANDHI (Columbia/TriStar Home Entertainment), winner of nine 1982 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor (Ben Kingsley), Best Director (Sir Richard Attenborough) and Best Screenplay (John Briley), is an engrossing (if long) docudrama about the pacifist Indian leader. Aspect ratio is 2.35:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital (no further format is specified), French and Spanish, with English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and Thai subtitles. Extras include an interview with Kingsley, four newsreel featurettes on the real Gandhi, photo montage, "The Words of Mahatma Gandhi," filmographies and the theatrical trailer. MPAA rating is PG.

HOUSE PARTY 4 (New Line Home Entertainment), released theatrically last year, is the latest in the line of comedies about wild urban goings-on. Chris Stokes directs a cast headed by Marques Houston and David Roberson. Aspect ratio is 1.85:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround. Extras include a making-of featurette and an IMX music video. MPAA rating is R.

MEMENTO (Columbia/TriStar Home Entertainment), released theatrically earlier this year, is an incredibly clever thriller about a man (Guy Pearce) who is seeking his wife’s killer – even though his short-term memory has been destroyed. Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano also star for writer/director Christopher Nolan. Aspect ratio is widescreen; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, with English closed-captioning. THE NEXT KARATE KID (Columbia/TriStar Home Entertainment) is the 1994 fourth installment about an Okinawan Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) instructed an American youth (Hilary Swank, pre-BOYS DON’T CRY) in the ways of martial arts. Christopher Cain directs. WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION (Warner Home Video) is the 1971 musical adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children’s book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," about five children who receive tickets to visit a famous but mysterious and magical candy-making facility. Gene Wilder stars for director Mel Stuart. Aspect ratio is full-screen 1.33:1; sound format is English Dolby Digital 5.1, with English closed-captioning. Extras include an audio commentary with the former child actor cast members, a making-of featurette, the theatrical featurette and singalong songs. MPAA rating is G.
