CHARLIE’S ANGELS (Columbia/TriStar Home Video), released theatrically last year, is the high-energy send-up of private eye/secret agent films and the ‘70s TV series. The movie stars Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Bill Murray, under the direction of McG (Joseph McGinty Nichol). Aspect ratio is 2.35:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1, English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and French Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, with English and French subtitles. Extras include an audio commentary track by director McG and the film’s cinematographer, the theatrical trailer, featurettes on the film’s fashions, set design, martial arts and stunts, special effects, the director and wire-flying effects, deleted and extended scenes, outtakes and bloopers and music videos by Destiny’s Child and Apollo Four Forty.


GIRLFIGHT (Columbia/TriStar Home Video), released theatrically last year, is a drama about a young woman (Michelle Rodriguez) who wants to become a boxer. Santiago Douglas also stars; Karyn Kusama directs. Aspect ratios are widescreen anamorphic and full-screen 1.33:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1, English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and French Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, with English, Spanish and French subtitles. Extras include an audio commentary by director Kusama and a making-of featurette.

GUMMO (New Line Home Entertainment) is the 1997 directorial debut of Harmony Korine, screenwriter of KIDS. The film deals with disaffected, poverty-stricken youth who kill cats. Aspect ratio is widescreen; sound format is English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, with English subtitles. Extras include an animated production photo gallery with commentary by director Korine and cast and crew filmographies.

JULIEN DONKEY-BOY (New Line Home Entertainment), released theatrically in 1999, is director Harmony Korine’s second film, shot on digital video under Dogma 95’s aesthetic conventions. The drama concerns a young man’s struggle with schizophrenia. Aspect ratio is widescreen; sound format is English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, with English subtitles. Extras include two deleted scenes, a making-of documentary, cast and crew filmographies and the theatrical trailer.

MY LITTLE MARGIE (VCI Home Video) is a two-disc set containing episodes of the 1954 black-and-white TV sitcom starring Gale Storm and Charles Farrell. Aspect ratio is 1:33.1 (full-screen); no sound format information is available. Extras include biographies of the cast.

ONCE IN THE LIFE (Trimark Home Entertainment), released theatrically last year, is director/writer/star Laurence Fishburne’s film adaptation of his play RIFF-RAFF, about a couple of New York hoodlums (Fishburne and Titus Welliver) who run afoul of their violent boss. No aspect ratio information is available; sound format is English Dolby Digital Surround, with English subtitles.

RED PLANET (Warner Home Video), released theatrically last year, is a science-fiction drama about a mission to Mars (not to be confused with Disney’s MISSION TO MARS) that goes awry. Val Kilmer, Carrie-Anne Moss and Tom Sizemore star as astronauts under Antony Hoffman’s direction. Aspect ratio is 2.35:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French, with English and French subtitles. Extras include deleted scenes and cast/director highlights.

RUGRATS IN PARIS: THE MOVIE (Paramount Home Entertainment), released theatrically last year, is an animated family feature about curious tykes visiting the City of Light. Susan Sarandon, John Lithgow, Debbie Reynolds and Christine Cavanaugh provide voices. Aspect ratio is widescreen, enhanced for 16x9 screens; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and French Dolby Surround, with English subtitles. Extras include a making-of featurette, Baha Men’s "Who Let the Dogs Out" music video, two alternate endings, a sound effects featurette and two DVD-ROM games.

THE RUTLES: ALL YOU NEED IS CASH (Rhino Home Video) is the hilarious 1978 mockumentary about the rise and fall of a Beatles-like rock group, the Rutles. Monty Pythoner Eric Idle co-wrote, co-directed (with Gary Weis) and stars. Aspect ratio is 1.33:1; sound format is English Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras include commentary track from Idle, a new introduction by Idle, extended interviews with Mick Jagger and Paul Simon, deleted scenes, a songs-only feature, a photo gallery and Idle’s selected memoirs of making the project.

TAPEHEADS (Anchor Bay) is a 1988 comedy starring John Cusack and Tim Robbins as two novice music video directors who dream of returning their favorite soul act to the limelight. Junior Walker and Sam Moore co-star; Bill Fishman directs. Aspect ratio is widescreen; sound format is English Dolby Digital, with English subtitles. Extras include an audio commentary track from director Fishman, executive producer (and former Monkee) Michael Nesmith and production designer Catherine Hardwicke.
