AIR RAGE (Paramount Home Entertainment) is a straight-to-home theatre airplane hijack thriller starring Ice-T, Cyril O’Reilly and Kim Oja, directed by Ed Raymond. Aspect ratio is widescreen, enhanced for 16x9 TVs; sound format is English Dolby Digital 5.1, with English and Spanish subtitles. Extras include audio commentary from director Raymond and actor O’Reilly, director and cast biographies and the theatrical trailer. MPAA rating is R (violence, some language).

THE BOOK OF POOH: STORIES FROM THE HEART (Walt Disney Home Video) is a straight-to-home theatre animated rendition of tales about the stuffed-animal bear Winnie the Pooh and his friends, directed by Mitchell Kriegman. Aspect ratio is 1.33:1 (full-screen); sound format is English Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras include a history of Winnie the Pooh, a connect-the-dots game, coloring pages, an interactive puzzle and character biographies. Suitable for all ages.

ED GEIN
(First Look Pictures), released theatrically earlier this year, is a fact-based thriller about an introverted man in Texas whose crimes served as the basis for fictional films such as PSYCHO and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Steve Railsback stars as Gein; Carrie Snodgress costars. Chuck Parello directs. No format information is available. MPAA rating is R.

HATARI!
(Paramount Home Entertainment) is a 1962 adventure/comedy set in Africa, about a team of trappers who catch wild animals to sell to zoos. John Wayne, Hardy Kruger, Elsa Martinelli and Red Buttons star. Aspect ratio is widescreen, enhanced for 16x9 TVs; sound formats are restored English Dolby Digital Mono and French Mono, with English subtitles. Extras include the theatrical trailer. Film predates the MPAA rating system (rated G in Canada).

PAINT YOUR WAGON (Paramount Home Entertainment) is the 1969 musical comedy/drama, set during the California gold rush, starring Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood as prospectors who wind up sharing the same wife (Jean Seberg). Aspect ratio is widescreen, enhanced for 16x9 TVs; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround, English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and French Mono, with English subtitles. POLLOCK
(Columbia/TriStar Home Entertainment), released theatrically last year, is a drama about the turbulent life of Jackson Pollock, whose style caused a revolution in the art world. Ed Harris directs and stars (and was Oscar-nominated for his performance); Marcia Gay Harden won the Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Pollock’s wife Lee Krasner. Aspect ratio is 1.85:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1, English Dolby Digital 2.0 and French, with English, Spanish and French subtitles. PROXIMITY
(Columbia/TriStar Home Entertainment) is a straight-to-home-theatre thriller, directed by Scott Ziehl, about a prison with a suspiciously high inmate death rate. Rob Lowe and James Coburn star. Aspect ratio is widescreen; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, with English and Spanish subtitles. MPAA rating is R.

THE SHOOTIST
(Paramount Home Entertainment) is a 1976 Western starring John Wayne, in his last film, as an aging gunslinger. Lauren Bacall, Ron Howard, James Stewart, John Carradine and Hugh O’Brian. Aspect ratio is widescreen, enhanced for 16x9 TVs; sound formats are English Dolby Digital Mono and French Dolby Digital Mono, with English subtitles. SWEET NOVEMBER
(Warner Home Video), released theatrically earlier this year, is a remake of a 1968 romance. The new version switches midway through from farce to tearjerker, with Keanu Reeves as an uptight yuppie loosened up by Charlize Theron as a free spirit. Pat O’Connor directs. Aspect ratio is 1.85:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and French Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, with English and French subtitles. VALENTINE (Warner Home Video), released theatrically earlier this year, concerns a group of women targeted by a serial killer who seems to bear a grudge dating back to junior high. Marley Shelton, Denise Richards and David Boreanaz star; Jamie Blanks directs. Aspect ratio is 2.35:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French, with English and French subtitles. Extras include an audio commentary from director Blanks, interviews with cast and crew and a club reel of the Orgy son "Opticon." MPAA rating is R.
