AUTUMN IN NEW YORK (MGM/UA), released theatrically earlier this year, is a romantic drama about a middle-aged man involved with a younger woman. Richard Gere and Winona Ryder star under Joan Chen’s direction. CRIME + PUNISHMENT IN SUBURBIA (MGM/UA), released theatrically earlier this year, stars Monica Keena, Vincent Kartheiser, Ellen Barkin, Michael Ironside and Jeffrey Wright in a tale of young love and crime. Rob Schmidt directs. Aspect ratio is widescreen anamorphic (exact ratio not specified); sound formats are English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, French Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo and Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo. Extras include an audio commentary track by director Schmidt and actor Ironside and subtitles in English, Spanish and French.

HOLLOW MAN (Columbia/TriStar), released theatrically earlier this year, is an update of the invisible man story, with state-of-the-art special effects. Kevin Bacon, Elisabeth Shue and Josh Brolin star for director Paul Verhoeven. Aspect ratio is 1.85:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1, English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and French Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround. Extras include an audio commentary track with director Verhoeven, actor Bacon and screenwriter Andrew Marlowe, the HBO making-of featurette, an isolated music-only track of Jerry Goldsmith’s score, 15 behind-the-scenes featurettes, three deleted scenes with director commentary, picture in picture comparisons, biographies on filmmakers and cast and English and French subtitles.

TIME CODE (Columbia/TriStar), released theatrically earlier this year, is director Mike Figgis’ bold experiment in split-screen filmmaking: four different sets of action unspool simultaneously in different parts of the picture in an interwoven tale of movie folks. Salma Hayek, Kyle MacLachlan, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Stellan Skarsgard star. Aspect ratio is widescreen (exact ratio not specified); sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and English Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround. Extras include a full-length unrated version (along with the theatrically released "R" version) in English two-channel surround and an audio commentary track from the director.

UNDER SUSPICION (Columbia/TriStar), released theatrically earlier this year, stars Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman in a thriller about a wealthy man suspected of murdering a minor. Stephen Hopkins directs. The film comes in both widescreen 1.85:1 and full-screen 1.33:1 aspect ratios; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1, English Dolby Digital 2.0, Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 and French Dolby Digital 2.0. The DVD is equipped with subtitles in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean and Thai.

THE WAY OF THE GUN (Artisan), released theatrically earlier this year, is the directorial debut of Christopher McQuarrie, writer of THE USUAL SUSPECTS. Ryan Philippe, Benicio Del Toro and Juliette Lewis star in a tale of a kidnapping that goes wrong. Aspect ratio is 1.85:1; sound format is English Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras include an audio commentary track from director McQuarrie and composer Joe Kraemer, production notes, a behind-the-scenes featurette and storyboards of a deleted scene.
