Joining the ever growing assortment of projectors being released this fall, Vivitek’s H5080 seems to be a solid piece of hardware for the $2,999 price. The 5080 offers a full HD 1080p resolution and an impressive 25,000:1 contrast at 1200 Lumens, and a trio of HDMI inputs accompanied by connections for VGA, Component, Composite and S-Video.
“We're packing a lot of features and technologies into our products to give the consumer an incredible home theater experience” said Vivitek’s Christopher Yang. “The Vivitek H5080 provides specifications into a more consumer-and wallet friendly product. From the Pixelworks processor to manual lens shift functions.”
The H5080 employs DLP Darkchip3 and Brilliance Color technologies from Texas instruments to ensure the darkest possible blacks and rich color throughout. It also employs the DNX Motion Engine from Pixelworks which helps to eliminate the blur of a fast moving scene.
The Vivitek H5080 will be available at $2,999 in October from authorized dealers.
