SIM2 wants to revolutionize 3-chip front projection with the C3X, the latest addition to the company’s Grand Cinema Line. The unit is sleek and compact, measuring 17.1x7.5x16.9 inches and weighing in at only 24 pounds. SIM2 boasts it’s a silent, first-class projector despite its size and price tag.
The C3X projector uses TI’s DLP chip and a newly developed proprietary ALPHA Path 3-Chip Light Engine that re-sizes the illumination optical path to maintain length and compactness, achieving good picture quality from small spaces. The projector’s 6500:1 contrast ratio, multiple lens options (the standard T2 and optional T1) and 250-Watt Hi-Brite lamp reproduce vibrant images for multiple rooms, screens and lighting applications.
Amongst its ten inputs are HDMI-HDCP connectors for HD and an IR sensor jack. The RS232 and USB ports also allow users to easily download the latest control software for the unit. A new “auto” function adapts and optimizes fan speeds, reducing temperature and fan noises while maximizing overall processing power. The C3X comes in the company’s signature silver-gray finish and will begin shipping in September at a suggested retail price of $17,995.
