Western Digital's new Livewire Powerline AV Network Kit is designed to take advantage of the new standard and get your home theater equipment networked without requiring too much work on your end. Rather than sending a wireless signal or requiring cabling, it simply sends the network information directly through your existing power lines. WD's kit boasts transfer speeds of up to 200Mbps, which is more than enough for Blu-ray quality video. Unlike a lot of other power line solutions, the Livewire Powerline AV Network Kit also acts as a router, allowing you to plug in multiple devices and eliminating the need for more wiring behind your home theater.
