There have been several wireless attachments released in the last few weeks, all of which promise to send 1080p video from your computer to your TV. Of all of the solutions we've seen, none of them is as simple and elegant as the Link from Imation.
The Imation Link doesn't require a large external device to be attached to your laptop. Nor does it require power or even an HDMI hookup. It's simply a USB dongle that plugs in to your computer. According to Imation, the Link can send at rates up to 220Mbps, which is more than enough to handle your HD content. It also broadcasts on a wavelength that ensures that WiFi interference won't be an issue. The downside to Imation's extender is that it doesn't handle 1080p video. You'll still get 720p in tandem with HD audio. You can pick up the Imation Link now at a price of $149. |
