Atlona’s AT-HDAiR Sends USB to HDMI Wirelessly  Print E-mail

One of the problems with hooking a laptop up to a TV or Projector is in trying to figure out where to put it.  Half the time, the person trying to show video from the laptop ends up holding it, or it rests on the subwoofer or precariously perched on top of a set-top box.  Atlona offers their own solution in the AT-HDAiR.

The AT-HDAiR is a device capable of sending wireless video up to 30ft with up to 720p or a 1440x1050 resolution.  Compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, the HDAiR simply attaches via USB to a laptop or PC and sends the signal to a receiver, which features both VGA and HDMI outs.

Like the older model, the HD-AiR uses Wisair chipsets to send the USB signal over Ultra Wide Band frequencies.  Sometimes change is good though, and the newest addition should please users.  While previous devices sent only video, Atlona’s new HDAiR sends audio as well.  The audio signal can go either straight through the HDMI or out through a 3.5mm stereo jack.

Both the VGA and HDMI output can be used simultaneously, so in the case that two displays need to be used simultaneously, it is possible. The AT-HDAiR is available now from Atlona and authorized dealers for $219.

Here's another awesome way to stream those HD videos from your laptop/computer
on to your HDTV. If you're looking for an alternative though, I suggest trying
out the Netgear Push2TV product. This device makes use of the HDMI port on the
HDTV and acts as a wireless adapter, displaying what you see on your
laptop/computer on to your HDTV. So instead of connecting the laptop/computer
via an HDMI cable, the Netgear Push2TV takes its place, and wirelessly streams
the contents of your laptop/computer even if they're in separate rooms in the
house.
