Definitive's newest StudioMonitor loudspeakers are designed to bring big sound in a small package. It's the first new bookshelf speaker from the company in nearly a decade and Definitive has added a few new tricks to the lineup. All three models - the SM 45, 55 and 65 - offer up the company's Balanced Double Surround System bass/midrange drivers and Pure Aluminum dome tweeters to ensure crystal clear highs. The 55 and 65 add top-mounted bass radiators for some extra low frequency response.
In the land of low frequencies, the subwoofer reigns as king. The SC4000 and SC6000 SuberCube subwoofers from Definitive boast Class HD power amps and a 56-bit processor. Definitive says that you'll notice drastically improved performance from previous models. The new subwoofers are designed for places where space is scarce or in-cabinet installation is a necessity. They measure just over a cubic foot and both subs also include the ability to go wireless along with the help of the SCW wireless kit. Definitive's new bookshelf speakers are due out in the last quarter of this year while the subs will be available next month.
