A pair of new Vento speakers was added to Canton’s lineup today. The new additions mark the first use of Canton’s 6” aluminum cone woofer in the Vento line, which is responsible for a front baffle a full inch narrower than other Vento models. The three way bass reflex Vento 880 is a floorstanding loudspeaker. It stands thirty nine inches tall and slightly less than eight inches wide.
The 880 sports a pair of the aluminum cone woofers and a matched aluminum midrange driver. Canton’s DC technology – which uses a high pass filter to eliminate inaudible signals – helps to create clear and linear bass reproduction. Canton’s Vento 810 is the smallest of the Vento line. It’s got a single 6” woofer and is made for use as a small monitor or as a satellite surround speaker for a full system.
Both speakers feature gold plated terminals, though only the 880 DC features biwire/biamp capabilities. Each of the two models is available in either black, white or silver piano-lacquer finish, as well as high-gloss cherry veneer. The Vento 8800 DC is available at $2,250 each and the Vento 810 is available at $800.
