Boston Acoustics Introduces Reflection Series  Print E-mail

“With the introduction of our new Reflection Series speakers,” says Boston Acoustics’ Eli Haray “our 'good, better, best' component speaker strategy is now complete.”  The Reflection Series (RS) constitutes what Haray would call the ‘better’ line of speakers, taking its position right between the CS and VS lines.

The RS line offers much of the same technology as found in the flagship VS line, including the much touted Extended Wide Bandwidth tweeter. The EWB tweeter offers dual benefits, the primary of which is that sound produced by the tweeter remains the linear throughout the entire frequency response.  Due to the tweeter being tucked back inside the speaker, there’s also the secondary benefit that no one will accidentally poke in your tweeters.

Boston Acoustics’ RS line also features Fiber Ceramic Copolymer Material (FCCM) woofer cones.  Using this proprietary polymer blend, Boston Acoustics promises a smooth response and minimal distortion for bass and midrange frequencies.

The new model line consists of two bookshelf speakers.  The RS 230 offers a more compact design and a 3.5” woofer for $249.  The larger RS 260 sports a 6.5” woofer at a $399 price point.  Wall mountable and slim profile RS 223 LCR speakers also feature 3.5” woofers and run $399.  A set of four 4” woofers are featured on the $699 RS334 floorstanding speakers.  Finally, the RPS 1000 subwoofer, which retails at $899, includes a 10” woofer and 8” passive radiators.
