There's plenty to love on Blu-ray this week. In addition to the regular assortment of Hollywood blockbusters, there's even a black and white art film with high reviews and an amazing look.
The Crazies Despite a questionable director and less than original source material, 'The Crazies' manages to be an enjoyable movie. Timothy Olyphant takes the lead role in this horror remake, and does an excellent job. In addition to being a well done horror film, 'The Crazies' is well shot, adding a bit of an artistic flair to the genre. Hot Tub Time Machine If you loved those wonderfully cheesy and raunchy comedies from the 80s, you'll be right at home with 'Hot Tub Time Machine.' The star, appropriately, is John Cusack, who plays the sort of character John Cusack plays best. It's a silly movie, but it embraces that silliness. The White Ribbon If anything, 'The White Ribbon' succeeds at being one of those rare modern black and white movies that really gets it right. It's absolutely gorgeous. The story the movie tells is complex and without a definite answer. It never tells you what you should think, but presents you with the facts and lets you decide.
