The first week of October is a great one for Blu-rays – there's an absolutely ridiculous amount of releases and more than a few that are well worth picking up.
Beauty and the Beast No matter when you saw Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' it has a nostalgic and wonderful feeling that just takes you back to your childhood. The quality of the movie itself should be enough to warrant a purchase, but the Blu-ray release goes above and beyond. High-Def Digest's Aaron Peck says of the video quality "Disney's 1080p transfer of their classic film looks absolutely magnificent in every conceivable way." The Karate Kid (2010) We go from a timeless classic to a remake that's not quite as bad as was expected. The new 'Karate Kid' featuring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith isn't going to make anyone's favorite movie list, but for what it is it's not bad. A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) We're just a few weeks away from Halloween and it's time to start stocking up on quality horror flicks. The newest version of 'Nightmare' may not have the same atmosphere as the first and you're getting a different Freddy Krueger, but it's definitely a film worth watching if you're a fan of the genre. 2001 Maniacs 30 Days of Night: Dark Days Bad Lieutenant Baseball: The Tenth Inning The Blair Witch Project Blue Mountain State: Season One Bones: Season 5 Delgo The Exorcist: Extended Director's Cut Fingerprints Grindhouse: Special Edition Hard Candy High Tension The Human Centipede The Last of the Mohicans Mad Max The Maltese Falcon The Mission Ocean's 11: 50th Anniversary Edition Open Water/Open Water 2: Adrift Peanuts Holiday Collection Robocop Trilogy Rocky (Reissue) Rocky II Rocky III Rocky IV Rocky V Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Undead The Secret of Kells Secretary Sisters Splice Stargate Universe - SGU: Complete Season One The Treasure of the Sierra Madre Troll 2: The 20th Anniversary Nilbog Edition Wolf Creek Wonderland (2003) The Year Without a Santa Claus |
