There's not a lot hitting the shelves this week in terms of new and exciting Blu-rays, but if you dig deep enough, you're sure to find something you'll like. In addition to a pretty wide array of older titles, there's a decent film by Antoine Fuqua and the Swedish adaptation of a hugely popular crime novel.
Brooklyn's Finest
It's got a great cast in Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke and Wesley Snipes, but 'Brooklyn's Finest' just doesn't live up to expectations. Antoine Fuqua made a huge impression when he made 'Training Day,' which also stars Washington and Hawke, but his latest effort just can't recapture the magic.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
There's been an explosion of interest in 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' which has inspired Hollywood to take a whack at the immensely popular book. David Fincher is taking on the project, but Swedish director Niels Arden Oplev has already created a version of the film which is finally available on Blu-ray today.
