The last week of August ends a bit lamely as far as new releases are concerned, unless you're really into talking dogs. When it comes to TV and catalog titles though, you could do a lot worse.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy - The Rich Mahogany Edition There's a simple rule that you can follow for comedy. Adam McKay + Will Ferrell = brilliant. 'Anchorman' is the first movie that the two worked on together, starting a tradition that included 'Talladega Nights,' 'Step Brothers' and most recently 'The Other Guys.' The Blu-ray of 'Anchorman' adds some new features, including an almost certainly entertaining table read of the script. Evil Dead Whether you're a fan of the original take on horror or you're just into the movie for the wonderfully campy nature, 'Evil Dead' is a flick that can't be ignored. Like 'Anchorman' it marks a first, but this time as a collaboration between director Sam Raimi and actor Bruce Campbell which climaxed in 'Army of Darkness.' You'll find a brand new audio commentary on the Blu-ray. Sons of Anarchy: Season Two If you don't watch 'Sons of Anarchy,' this is a great time to start. Both the first and second season are now available on Blu-ray, featuring deleted scenes, featurettes and commentary for select episodes. The show stars the great Ron Perlman and Katey Sagal, as well as some excellent newcomers. Also Coming Out This Week 9th Company: Collector's Edition Beatdown Black Blood Brothers: The Complete Series Harry Brown House: Season Six Jane's Addiction: Live Voodoo Marmaduke NCIS Los Angeles: Season One The Score Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too? The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season |
