The last week of April is a great week for catalog titles. The 'Elizabeth' films finally make it to Blu-ray, as do 'Tombstone,' 'Armageddon,' and the David Lynch version of 'Dune.' Read on to find out all of this week's Blu-ray releases.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Heath Ledger's death midway through shooting made completing 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' a complicated venture, and the project was nearly scrapped. Terry Gilliam cast not one, but three different actors to portray the character during different transitional phases. The result is a film that holds together beautifully, despite a rocky production. It's Complicated 'It's Complicated' is a bit of a diamond in the rough. It's not an amazing film by any means, but a romantic comedy that's good is hard to come by. Meryl Streep stars alongside Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin in the movie. The all-star cast gives it there all and ends up with a rom-com that goes beyond the traditionally low expectations for the genre. Traffic It's great to see 'Traffic' finally making its way to Blu-ray. The film was released on HD-DVD back in 2006, and four years later Soderburgh's drug war picture is back. It stars Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Salma Hayek and the incomparable Benicio del Toro, who took home an Oscar for his performance. Other Releases This week include: Armageddon Dark Nature Disgrace District 13: Ultimatum Dogora Dune [1984] Elizabeth Elizabeth: The Golden Age Five Minutes of Heaven The Jackal Out of Africa Ride with the Devil Tombstone |
