There's not a lot hitting the shelves this week, and unless you really need 'Caddyshack' in high definition, this is a good time to stock up on some of those older titles.
Shutter Island It's the first thriller from director Martin Scorsese, and it's definitely divisive. Some love it, citing its directing and all start cast of actors. Others hate it, calling it gimmicky and hard to follow. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth a look. From Paris With Love Somewhere along the line, probably after his role in 'Pulp Fiction,' people started putting John Travolta in movies based on the impression that he could act. He can't. It's also strange that so many bad movies are coming out of Luc Besson, who penned 'La Femme Nikita,' 'The Fifth Element,' and 'The Professional.' It's best to stay away from this one. Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) Eric Idle and John Du Prez put together this show based on 'The Life of Brian,' and got the old crew together to put the show on for the 40th anniversary of Monty Python. It stars John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, and Terry Jones, and runs 90 minutes long. If you're a Python fan, this is one to add to the collection. |
