Just a week after announcing the release of the 2011 Aventage line of A/V receivers, Yahama has launched a brand new Aventage Blu-ray player complete with all the features you've come to expect from a player released in 2011. The BD-A1010 boasts Netflix and Blockbuster on Demand streaming capabilities as well as compatibility with YouTube Leanback, a new take on the YouTube experience made just for those watching on their TV.
Yamaha's A1010 joins the ranks of Blu-ray players that can be controlled by an iPhone, but Yamaha says that an Android app for system and player control will be launched later this year. Of course, it plays Blu-rays too. The Aventage Blu-ray player offers decoding of the latest HD audio formats, 1080p playback, and 7.1 channel analog output. It also handles 3D and is designed to pair nicely with the Aventage 3D receivers. The A1010 also plays other formats, like DVD-Audio, SACD, DVD, CD and a variety of video formats including DivX, WMV, MOV and MP4. Yamaha's new Blu-ray player is available now at a price of $500.
