Sony announced both a Google TV enabled set-top box and Google TV enabled Blu-ray player today, coming in at prices of $199 and $299 respectively. Both are packed with the goodies you'd expect to see from a Google TV device, including access to the Google Play Store, Wi-Fi for your internet connection and a remote that packs a multi-touch pad and 3-Axis motion control. The Blu-ray player won't be out until the fall, but the NSZ-GS7 is coming July 22nd and is currently up for preorder on Amazon.
Vizio has also announced a Google TV set-top box, but theirs comes in at $100 less. It seems to offer just about everything Sony's does, but also adds support for OnLive cloud gaming, which gives you the ability to stream the latest and greatest videogames without the need for a console. They call it the Co-Star and it will be available for preorder in July. |
