Philips
Electronics has announced the upcoming release of their BDP9000 Blu-ray
Player as well as their all-in-one PCWriter (TripleWriter SPD7000).
Both pieces of Blu-ray equipment are scheduled for a third quarter 2006
release.
Philips’ Blu-ray player will provide HDMI output, supporting the highest 1080p resolution. The player will also support DVD upscaling to 1080i through the component video output. Philips’ TripleWriter drive will link with personal computers to allow backup of hard drives, photographs, movies, music, and more. The TripleWriter will support the recording and playback of CD, DVD, and Blu-Ray Recordable Discs. The TripleWriter can be connected to a PC through a SATA interface. Philips’ BDP9000 Blu-ray player is expected to retail for $999. No price information is available yet for the TripleWriter SPD 7000. Source: Royal Philips Electroncis |
