The unit has a 7.1 analog output, which bests most Blu-ray players containing only a 5.1 analog output. The HDMI input and output support bitstream lossless DTS and Dolby formats. The player can internally decode or output the bitstream audio. The M56 also contains a USB 2.0 port for playback of music and photos. There does not seem to be any support for DVD-Audio or SACD at this time. The play is Profile 2.0 and supports BD-Java and BD-Live events.
