It goes without saying that the DBP-1610 ouputs a full HD resolution, at 1080/24p or 1080/60p, and that it features BD-Live capability. Denon’s new player also supports HD audio formats such as Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio.
The DBP-1610 features i/p scaling as well as upconversion up to 1080p for standard definition DVDs. Both coaxial digital audio output and analog output (2 channel) are supported, as well as component, composite, and HDMI video outputs. Denon’s new player is also compatible with a variety of file formats including AVHCD, DivX HD, MP3, WMA and JPEG.
Interestingly, the DBP-1610 also sports a feature known as HDMI Source Direct, which when enabled sends the native disc resolution onward to a receiver or other component which would be better capable of scaling. The DBP-1610 is available now from various retailers at a price of $499.
