"The new RX-V867 rounds out the line beautifully," says Yamaha's president Tom Summer. "It provides the latest in true high-definition entertainment along with the strong feature set one would expect from a Yamaha receiver.
The 867 offers 3D compatibility – even the on screen interface can be shown in 3D – and decoding of all the latest HD audio formats. It sports six HDMI inputs and a pair of HDMI outputs, a feature often sought but less often included in receivers.
Yamaha's RX-V867 also lets you use IntelliAmp technology to assign amplifiers as you see fit, whether you're bi-amping the front speakers or creating a second audio zone.
Another big step up is in the networking department. You can stream internet radio and music from sources like Rhapsody, as well as from your computer. Supported file types include MP3, AAC, FLAC and more.
The V867 is available now at an MSRP of $899.
