The folks at Pioneer are really stepping things up with their entry and mid-level receivers for 2013. The company has trickled down quite a bit of technology to even their lowest price models. The $249 VSX-523, for example, is future proofed with 4K passthrough. At $599, the VSX-1123 adds 4K upscaling.
The VSX-823 is where things get really interesting. For $399 you'll find MHL connectivity so you'll be able to easily plug in your phone and display video. The 823 is also equipped with second zone HDMI output, a total of six HDMI ins, iOS and Android app control, and even basic networking features like Pandora and vTuner. Pioneer's new receivers start shipping this month. |
