Silverline Records has entered into a long-term licensing deal with Artemis Classics to release 39 DVD-Audio recordings.
Under the terms of the agreement, Silverline Records has obtained exclusive license rights for all six-channel formats for 39 master recordings originally released under the Vanguard Classics and Omega record labels founded by Maynard and Seymour Solomon. Much of the repertoire features seminal recordings by the Utah Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maurice Abravanel from the mid-‘60s through the late ‘70s, in addition to performances by the Baltimore Symphony, among others. These DVD-Audio discs will be carefully remixed from the original source recordings at 5.1 Production Studios in West Los Angeles. In addition to the quality preserved on these DVD-Audio releases, they will include bonus features like original conductors’ notes, label and artist correspondence as well as interviews with featured performers. These recordings will be released during the first quarter of 2004. The collection will mark the debut of the Silverline Classics label, an imprint of Silverline Records. Like this article?
