Samsung is pulling out all the stops with the new television that they're launching in Korea. The new D9500 is the biggest set of its kind, measuring in at 75 inches. It offers LED backlighting, a 240Hz refresh rate and, of course, a 1080p resolution. It's 3D capable and uses active shutter glasses to produce the effect - four of which are said to be included with each purchase.
A large screen is nice, but the D9500 does a whole lot more. It's built on Samsung's Smart TV platform, allowing users to use a web browser, stream audio and video, access Samsung Apps and more. The set launches in Korea at a price of 19 million won, or around $18,000. According to the folks at Engadget, the set is going to be coming to the States in August at a much cheaper $13,000. |
