IOGEAR Wireless HD Computer to TV Kit and USB 2.0 External HD Audio / Video Adapter Review
Conclusion and Pricing

IOGEAR HDMI Cable

Conclusion:

The convenience of this low hassle computer to HDTV solution is well worth looking into, particularly if you’ve been looking at projectors or some other computer sharing device.  Not worrying about safety issues with guests tripping over wires is a huge plus. Even if you chose the USB External HD A/V adapter, you can leave your hooked up laptop on the console along with your other equipment so everything is in one location.

Although the current Wireless HD kit is convenient and easy to use, I wish I could connect my computer from any room and have it transmit through walls to the TV connected with the receiver. Perhaps this is a function they can bring to the next model.

Also on my wish list for the next model is to have a power switch on the wireless receiver. I placed my receiver on the top rack of my entertainment system where I wouldn’t knock it down and it had a clear line-of-sight with my laptop. While I can easily remove the USB wireless dongle from my laptop, I would have to unplug the wireless receiver to turn it off. Both the receiver and the transmitter were warm to the touch during use so I would prefer an easier way to power off when it’s not in use.

That being said, you still can’t beat the convenience of both the wired and wireless solutions. If you’re looking for a quick solution, I would recommend checking both wired and wireless solutions and see which works best for your setup. Once connected, you can instantly use your computer as a multimedia player with the World Wide Web at your fingertips.  These are fun and cutting edge products from IOGEAR.
