Being to able to access content anywhere in the household, in premium quality, without a tangle of wires and a stack of boxes is what many have come to see as the ideal home entertainment set up. A number of companies have been offering higher end solutions with built in flexibility and virtually unlimited bandwidth. The technology is changing so fast, it is often hard to keep up, with the explosion of Blu-ray, 3D, and who knows what else that is coming around the corner.

Below is an overview of a few companies that have brought to market interesting and advanced products that are designed to unleash your content, with streaming and other interesting features and unlimited flexibility. Of all the companies listed below, I only have first hand user experience with IOGEAR, where I reviewed their excellent IOGEAR Wireless HD Computer to TV Kit and USB 2.0 External HD Audio/Video Adapter. vizio xwh200

It transmits on a 60 GHz interference-free frequency so other Wi-Fi devices won’t disrupt the quality of the signal. And installation couldn’t be easier. No additional software or equipment is necessary, simply plug your HDTV into the receiver via an HDMI cable and up to 4 devices into the 4 HDMI ports in the transmitter. The system will transmit all 3D and high-definition audio and video content directly to your TV.

It’s also HDCP approved so watching licensed content from cable, satellite or Blu-ray™ won’t be a problem either. The kit includes two 3ft HDMI® Cables to connect your TV to the receiver and an AV device to the transmitter. It’s an ideal solution for wall-mounted HDTVs. Cables are cleanly and safely out of sight and 3D and HD content still plays at peak performance.”
