Cool Re: DirectTV to have over 100 HD channels

Well if this is Wednesday it must be time for more HD channels!
DirecTV's 3rd wave (well more like a ripple this week) of HD channels went live this morning,
FoodHD (231-1),
MGMHD (255),
NGCHD (276),
CNBCHD (355)

Kind of slim pickens this week but I'm glad to see National Geographic HD.
I hope we get Speed HD next week in time for the last F1 race of the season.

DIRECTV launched some more HD today:

* Cartoon Network (Channel 296)
* Fox Business (Channel 359)
* Fuel TV (Channel 612)
* FX (Channel 248)
* HGTV (Channel 229-1)
* Speed (Channel 607)

Regional Sports Networks:

* FSN Detroit (Channel 636)
* FSN Southwest (Channel 643)
* FSN West (Channel 652)
* FSN Prime Ticket (Channel 653)


Plus 7 PPV Channels: 135, 136, 137, 138, 145, 146, 147

Im starting to get bummed that I have dish network. can anyone report of the new DirecTV hd channels look good or are they compressed as hell?

Well for the most part they look great, some of them are stretching the SD programing though, like anything some are better than others, but channels like Smithsonian HD look killer.
Overall I am quite happy with the quality of the pictures & am thrilled with the quantity!!
