rookie - half of my disks don't work

i tried about 10 disks and half don't work on my turntable, it's playing but missing parts, jumping over. can anyone tell me why and what i should do about it?

1. Make sure the turntable is perfectly level, side to side and front to back.
2. Check your cartridge and stylus specs for tracking force and set accordingly.
3. Set anti-skating properly.
4. Be sure stylus isn't worn out.

maybe this is stupid, but try cleaning the records themselves with 90% alcohol (or higher) and a microfiber cloth or anti-static type device.
