I'm still hunting, I am likely going to review the Kuzma for avrev.com and the Music Hall 9.2 when it comes out. Still undecided what I'll settle on for the main rig.

You got some good advice there from Jeremy. But, I really think you should go with the $1000.00 rig for now. Get a decent arm and cartridge of course, and enjoy. Once you do some listening, you`ll be in a better place to make a smarter decision. Then, just going for it all, and allowing all the audio lusts to take over!! You hear what I`m saying though??!!lol!! Seriously. Do that first, because, its been some time since you listening to lps anyway. How much of your listening pleasure will really be devoted to vinyl? You gotta ask yourself that. Alright??!! Dr. Source, how you been anyway? |

Music Hall 9.2? Was not aware that they had, or were into turntables. I don`t know a lot about Music Hall. Well, I can see my suggestion just went out the window.

Music Hall primarily makes TT's, the 9.1 was showing @ CES, but Roy Hall told me over some nice Single Malt Scotch he is upgrading the 9.1 to 9.2 status, just not sure when it will come out.

My advice would be( and Audiogon is a precious source for advice) the second best: Zyx1000 Airy (about 2000$, but on ebay you can find a vendor for less than half); or Denon 103 (120$, unbeatable price/quality); than get a medium weight arm (I love unipivots, but a Rega 250 could do-for 300$) and a decent table (with a very good bearing with low tolerances: that's what makes 80% of a table good sound (or lack of) -Linn or Rega or Clearaudio or VPI or Well tempered best); so you can be very near the best with something between 1000 and 2000$. |
