I have a Sanyo projector. Looks like dust on the image in some places - splotchy patches (not uniform), noticable in lighter scenes, not really in dark scenes. I used compressed air to blow off the LCD panels - no luck. Took it to a 'repair' guy - he charged me $100 to clean it - looks the same to me. If you click on the photo to enlarge it you will see what I mean - especially near the top of the screen. I THINK it's dust but would like some feedback before I take it back to him. I am not an expert.

Hard to tell from that photo. Maybe a constant gray frame would show it better. If you have a computer connected you should be able to try different solid pastel colors. That would eliminate source being the issue.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I ddi try a different DVD player but had the same result. The photo distorts the colors - the background is white, not blue and the splotches are tinted reddish. could it be anything other than dust?
Thx |

Assuming you've cleaned the screen you're projecting onto and there are no problems with it?
