The only thing that comes to mind is image retention. LCD crystals can get into a state where they don't twist or untwist accurately and for a period of time the result is the retention of an image that has been static on the screen for a long period of time. Some have indicated extreme heat can also cause a similar situation, although random. If this is what's going on, leaving an all white frame for a while, 30 min maybe, may help it.

Thanks again. I tried your suggestion - no luck. Does this new photo help? I focussed the projector so that the blobs are in focus as opposed to blurred. Do you think it is NOT dust? Can dust get into the lens on these things or are they somehow sealed?
